Are there any sites you can go to for absolutely free pc scan AND repair downloads?

I am tired (and strapped for cash) of sites that say they scan and repair pc problems. Somewhere down the line you have to pay, even when using a so called trial version. What ever happened to try before you buy? There’s got to be a site out there that sells the software because it provides you with an oppurtunity to try it’s product for free for a few days. Or better yet…forever!

I’m not sure what the specific problem you are having is but if you think you are having a virus issue please check out AdAware. It is really powerful, and the trial version is free.

They’re usually scams…
Panda’s ActiveScan and Trend Micro House Call can scan your PC. Free. Really..

It depends on what problem you are trying to fix. Please post exactly what the issue is, and I am sure there is a piece of software available that addresses it for free.
For reference:
Anti-spyware/adware
Spybot -
Adaware -
Antivirus
Avast -
AVG -
Antivir -
