What advice can you give to start your own PC repair services?

PC repair
rtang@sbcglobal.net asked:

I just want to do PC repair services on the side. I am not looking to quit my daytime job, or even invest in a store to run a business. Does anyone know of any websites that can set me on the right foot here?

My husband does the exact same thing. I recommend getting some business cards printed and then handing them out everywhere. Work would be a good place. Then it can spread word of mouth. We have been doing this for 3 years and now we have over 200 customers and my husband has a side job 4 nights a week. We also set up a place in our basement so that he can network more than one computer at a time. We charge about half of what the “professional guys” charge and the people are happy writing the check. Great side gig.
